Chargers Big Win Means Commemorative Philip Rivers Wristbands Awarded to San Diego Blood Bank Donors Through Saturday, January 3

In honor of the Chargers big win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday, special commemorative Philip Rivers Blood Drive 30 wristbands will be awarded to blood donors at all San Diego Blood Bank donor centers and mobile drives beginning on Wednesday, December 31, in celebration of the team advancing to the playoffs. The wristbands will be available while supplies last through this Saturday, January 3, (All donor centers are closed on New Year’s Day).

Blood donors are also encouraged to start the New Year by joining the blood bank’s Donor Difference loyalty program, where members are entitled to great benefits, including the ability to track their total cholesterol, blood pressure and pulse.  Members also earn points for each donation that can be redeemed on the blood bank’s online store for items including T-shirts, Fleece Jackets, Movie Tickets and iPod Shuffles.

Anyone who is at least 17 years old, in good health and weighs at least 110 pounds may be eligible to donate blood.
