 NEW COUNTRY 95.7 & MONEYTREE JOIN THE SAN DIEGO BLOOD BANK AT MLK BLOOD DRIVEPosted: January 15, 2010
New Country 95.7 and the San Diego Blood Bank will honor Martin Luther King Day with a special blood drive and bone marrow drive at Balboa Park’s Hall of Champions, 2131 Pan American Plaza, on Monday, January 18, from 10 a.m. to 3:30p.m. The first 75 blood donors at the drive will be awarded a pair of UltraStar Cinemas movie passes courtesy of Moneytree. In addition, Moneytree will provide volunteers for this special blood drive. Free bone marrow testing will also be offered at this blood drive for those who wish to join the Be the Match registry of the National Marrow Donor Program with a simple cheek swab. To qualify to join the registry you must be between the ages of 18 and 60, be willing to donate to any patient in need, and meet the health guidelines. Blood donors must be over age 17, in good health and weigh more than 110 lbs. A good meal and plenty of fluids are recommended prior to blood donation.
