Blood Donations Help Patients Like... Amanda Hansen

Ten-year-old Amanda suffers from Hereditary Spherocytosis, a rare type of anemia. She has received blood transfusions as part of her treatment and underwent surgery to remove her spleen and gall bladder. Amanda’s blood cell counts are monitored regularly and she receives transfusions when healthy blood cells are needed. Amanda’s family is thankful for the blood donors that have a made a difference in her life.
