Underwriting a Bloodmobile or Blood Delivery vehicle

Financial donations towards our bloodmobile program can offer your company or organization positive publicity while providing a lifesaving gift to the community. In addition, bloodmobiles serve as an impressive moving billboard that reminds San Diegans how much your company cares about the community's welfare.

A new bloodmobile can increase our blood donations by approximately 10% or about 10,500 units of blood annually. Bloodmobiles are used every day of the year (except Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Year's Day), at multiple locations throughout the county.

San Diego Blood Bank has an urgent need for new blood delivery vehicles. These vehicles transport blood and blood products to San Diego area hospitals and beyond. An underwritten blood deliver vehicle, could feature your company’s logo in addition to attractive lettering stating “Donated by (your company name)”or similar wording. Thus, it will serve as a moving billboard, sending the message that your company cares about saving local lives. Blood delivery vehicles are driven an average of 80,000 to 100,000 miles per year and are kept for approximately 3 years before they are “retired” into other uses. 

We deliver blood daily to hospitals, many times for a  life-threatening
situation.  We must have vehicles ready for delivery at all times.
