Planned Giving

By naming the San Diego Blood Bank Foundation in your will or living trust, you can make a difference in life for future generations. Leaving a gift in your will allows you to retain full use of your assets during your lifetime, while making a significant difference in your community's future. Plus, you'll automatically become a member of the San Diego Blood Bank's Heritage Club.

Here are some planned giving options for you to consider:

Stocks, Bonds, Securities

Making a gift of stock and other securities to the San Diego Blood Bank Foundation allows you to bypass all capital gains tax and get a tax deduction for the value of the security. This is a great way to utilize low cost basis securities to make a lifesaving gift to the Foundation.

Life Income Plans

Securities, land, rental homes, apartment buildings, office buildings, farms, shopping plazas, and even your home can be given to a Life Income Plan with the San Diego Blood Bank Foundation. Many assets can easily be used to increase your income or create a tax deduction that can save you money on your taxes, while providing a future helping hand to the lifesaving work of the San Diego Blood Bank.

Insurance

Life insurance policies that were purchased many years ago and are no longer needed for their original purpose make wonderful gifts to the San Diego Blood Bank Foundation. A tax deduction is allowed for a significant portion of the insurance value, which could mean significant savings on your taxes.

Individual Retirement Accounts

IRA's and other pension assets can be the most heavily taxed assets in your estate, yet they're tax exempt when given to the San Diego Blood Bank Foundation. Contact us to learn how to make sure your IRA is properly structured to allow the maximum value to you, your heirs, and the Foundation.

Memorial Gifts

A memorial gift is a special way to remember someone who has made a difference in your life. When a memorial donation is made, the San Diego Blood Bank Foundation will send a note to the family to notify them of your generosity. You will receive a receipt of your contribution.
