Lives Saved Volunteers will be educated about the impact blood donations have on patients' lives. Each pint of blood can save up to two lives. Online Scheduling Volunteers will have access to the San Diego Blood Bank Web site and will be able to sign up for blood drives through the appointment process. Log onto sandiegobloodbank.org to sign up for a volunteer opportunity! Volunteer ID Badge Volunteers will receive their own volunteer ID name badge along with a custom lanyard, after signing up for their first shift. Volunteer Handbook Volunteers will have access to the Volunteer Difference workbook, which provides information on how to demonstrate the W.E. C.A.R.E. standards, as well as tips for mobile greeters, canteen hosts and ambassador speakers. Volunteer Newsletter Volunteers will receive a monthly subscription to The Volunteer Difference newsletter, which features volunteer opportunities and upcoming events. Access to Online Store Volunteers earn points for every hour donated and can redeem their points for special volunteer items, on the Volunteer Difference online store. Volunteer Difference Decal Volunteers will receive a special decal to place on their vehicles which will recognize them as a San Diego Blood Bank Volunteer Difference Member. VIP Access at Chargers Blood Drive Volunteers will receive their wristbands before the drive allowing them access to the autograph line. Recognition on our Web site Volunteers will be recognized on the Volunteer Difference section of the San Diego Blood Bank's Web site. Two Invitations to the Life Level 4 Event The Volunteer and a guest will be invited to the San Diego Blood Bank's Life Level Four Legends Event. Recognition at the Life Level 4 Event Volunteers will be recognized in the Life Level Four Legends event program. Volunteer Legend Award Pin Volunteers will be awarded a special pin for their service annually. Pins will be awarded at the end of the calendar year.
