The USPFC Community Blood Drive is a two-week challenge in partnership with the California Police Athletic Federation, the nonprofit behind the United States Police & Fire Championships. Since 1967, the USPFC has brought public safety athletes from across the country to San Diego to compete in Olympic-style events. This year, the competition starts early — at the donor center.

Agencies across the region are rallying their members and the community to see who can generate the most blood donations before the games kick off June 13. It’s the camaraderie and competitive spirit of the USPFC, channeled into saving lives through blood donation.

Check back next week for the leaderboard!

How It Works

  1. Schedule your donation at any San Diego Blood Bank donor center between May 10–23.
  2. Mention CPAF, USPFC, or “the games” and your agency name when you check in to donate.
  3. Fill out the quick check-in form at the donor center to put your agency on the leaderboard.
  4. Watch the leaderboard and share with your crew to keep your agency on top.

Who Can Participate?

Everyone. You don’t need to be a first responder. Active and retired law enforcement, fire, and EMS personnel are leading the charge, but family members, civilian staff, and community supporters are all welcome to donate and represent an agency.

When help is needed, anyone can answer the call.

About National Police Week & EMS Week

This campaign proudly spans two national observances. National Police Week (May 10–16) honors the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers. National EMS Week (May 17–23) recognizes the dedication of emergency medical services professionals under the 2026 theme “Improving Outcomes, Together.” Two weeks, two communities, one mission: heroes save lives.
