Celebrating Team Survivor
On May 30, San Diego Blood Bank had the joy of welcoming Team Survivor members and their families to our annual Team Survivor Appreciation Event at Dave & Buster’s in Mission Valley.
Team Survivor is a remarkable community of blood recipients whose lives have been touched by the generosity of blood donors.
At this special event, we celebrated their strength and resilience, shared inspiring stories of hope, and expressed our heartfelt gratitude for the role they play in bringing the impact of blood donation to life. Their journeys remind us every day of the powerful connection between donors and patients—and the difference that one blood donation can make.
Introducing the Rapid Response Team
Every blood type plays an important role in helping patients, and O positive and O negative blood have a unique role in emergency care.
This month, we’re launching our Rapid Response Team (RRT). Our RRT supplies O positive and O negative blood to hospitals and for pre-hospital emergency care. This enables paramedics to begin transfusions before patients reach the hospital, ensuring critical care starts sooner—when every second counts.
This initiative shines a light on one of the many ways blood donations help save lives and support patients throughout our community.
