Board Member

Mr. Tendler has been a financial and operational executive at both private and public healthcare and technology companies for over twenty years. He has been instrumental in 40+ equity and debt financings and served as both a director and observer on over 15 boards.

During 14 years at both Avalon Ventures and Mission Ventures as Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Tendler handled all administrative and legal matters for the venture funds, was in charge of financial reporting, investor relations and also served as acting Chief Financial Officer of numerous Avalon Ventures portfolio companies. Mr. Tendler also served as director or observer on the boards of many of the Avalon portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Avalon Ventures, Mr. Tendler served as CFO and VP Finance of several public and private companies including PersonaLogic (web based company acquired by AOL) where he held the positions of VP Finance and Secretary, Infrasonics (publicly traded neonatal ventilator manufacturer acquired by Puritan Bennett) where he was CFO and Secretary and RealAge (internet based healthcare company acquired by Hearst Media) where he held the position of CFO.

Mr. Tendler began his career at Ernst & Young where he was promoted to Audit Manager. He received his BS in Accounting cum laude from San Diego State University and his MBA from the HAAS School of Business at UC Berkeley. Mr. Tendler served on the nonprofit boards of both Epiphany Prep Charter School and Noah Homes, both in San Diego.
