Receive Job Seeker Support through San Diego Workforce Partnership

San Diego Blood Bank is proud to partner with the San Diego Workforce Partnership to offer On-the-Job Training (OJT) opportunities for individuals seeking a meaningful career in healthcare, lab work, donor services, and more.

Through this program, eligible participants can receive paid, hands-on training, career guidance, and even support for work-related expenses—like uniforms or transportation. Most roles don’t require prior experience, and you’ll receive 1:1 career coaching with a manager once hired.

Saving lives starts with a career you believe in.

To access job seeker support through this program, you’ll work closely with a dedicated WIOA case manager to create a personalized plan toward employment. Active participation, including regular check-ins and follow-through, is essential for success.

Working with your case manager allows you to take advantage of supportive services such as gas cards, clothes for work, and more!

How It Works

1. Get WIOA-Eligible

To qualify for the OJT program, you’ll first need to be approved through SDWP’s WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) process. This includes uploading a valid ID, income verification (if applicable), and proof of Selective Service registration (if male and born after 12/31/1959).

You can also visit one of SDWP’s Career Centers during walk-in hours (Mon/Wed/Fri, 8AM–5PM).

2. Submit Your Interest in Working at SDBB

Fill out the short interest form below so we can connect you with open opportunities that match your interests. Once submitted:

  • SDWP will begin your eligibility review
  • SDBB’s HR team will review your interest form and may reach out separately
  • You’ll receive a confirmation email with next steps

NOTE: Participation in the OJT program is dependent on participant WIOA eligibility and available program funding. Employment at SDBB is not dependent on SDWP or WIOA eligibility.
