Celebrating Our Most Dedicated Platelet Donors
To close out our 75th anniversary, we hosted a special evening on February 26 to recognize 108 Guardians Circle platelet donors—individuals who donated platelets 20 or more times in 2025.
The event highlighted the impact of their commitment, including a powerful story from local blood recipient Avila, who shared her experience with leukemia and how blood donations supported her treatment. She closed with an original song, earning a standing ovation from attendees.
We are grateful to these donors for their extraordinary dedication—and to all our donors who make our life-saving mission possible every day.

A New Mother's Life, Saved by Blood Donors
At 32, Ashley welcomed her first child after a smooth pregnancy and uncomplicated delivery. Just days later, she experienced unexpected hemorrhaging and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, where she required immediate care and transfusions of red blood cells, plasma, and platelets.
Because those life-saving blood products were available when she needed them most, Ashley made a full recovery.
Today, she is a healthy and grateful mother of two who donates blood regularly in honor of the generous donors who helped her during that critical time.
