November Newsletter 2025

Celebrating 75 Years - Newsletter

As the days turn a little cooler, we can’t help but feel a deep sense of gratitude for the community that surrounds us. This is the season when we pause to appreciate the everyday moments that bring us together and remind us we’re all connected.

At San Diego Blood Bank, that spirit of connection shines through every donor, volunteer, and support who helps make our mission possible.

As we move through this season of gratitude, we want to thank you for being a vital part of this life-saving work. You generosity makes it possible for us to serve patients in need every single day and reminds us how much good we can accomplish together.

With heartfelt appreciation,
Your Blood Bank Family

2nd Annual Bill Walton Memorial Blood Drive Brings Heroes to Grossmont Center to Save Lives and Celebrate "Mr. San Diego"

Thank you to the community for showing up to save lives at our 2nd Annual Bill Walton Memorial Blood Drive.

Those who donated blood on what would have been Bill’s 73rd birthday walked away with a groovy, exclusive T-shirt commemorating this event, of course in Bill’s favorite, tie-dyed gear.

The drive exceed it’s collection goal and reached 355 units of life-saving blood that will go on to help members of our local community.

Share the Gift of Hope

As the holiday season approaches, we’re inspired by the kindness of our generous blood and financial donors who lift our community all year long.

On Giving Tuesday, December 2, consider a financial gift to support our life-saving mission—or help brighten the lives of patients in our community with a year-end donation made before December 31.

Your contribution ensures we have the essential resources needed to care for patients when it matters most. Donate today at sandiegobloodbank.org/givenow

Featured Story: Alex

Meet our Newest Team Survivor Member

As a teenager, Alex suffered a traumatic hand injury that led to a critical surgery to save his hand—and ultimately his life. He was able to receive the care he needed because multiple units of blood were ready when he arrived. With the support of generous blood donors—and driven his own determination to heal—Alex made a remarkable recovery, became a two-time state medalist in pole vaulting, and today thrives as both an architect and an artist.
